The unique design elements of Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings can provide accessibility challenges for some visitors to the Taliesin estate, but Taliesin Preservation is committed to providing tours to those guests needing special assistance. A visit to Taliesin’s buildings often requires long periods of standing, stair climbing without handrails, and walking on uneven terrain. Accessible tours provide customized private tours that avoid these challenges and still allow visitors to enjoy the history and beauty of the site. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this tour is also an option for those who are unable to wear the required face coverings due to an underlying medical condition.
Accessible tours can be reserved on Tuesdays and Thursdays with at least three weeks’ notice. Tours will be scheduled based on availability.
Accessible tours can be scheduled for the One-Hour House and Highlights tours. Accessible tours are priced the same as our public tours.
Children 10+ years old can join the tours.
The meeting location is the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center (Spring Green, WI).
See any of our buildings open for public tours. Accessible tours often take different routes through the buildings to avoid stairs and other challenges but still see as many buildings as possible.
Those visitors who cannot wear the required face coverings due to an underlying medical condition may schedule an accessible tour to limit the tour group to just themselves and their party.
Visually impaired or hard of hearing visitors are encouraged to contact the tour department ahead of their visit. A private tour or additional resources can be made available to suit each individual’s needs.
For more information, contact the tour department at (608) 588-7900 ext. 229 or ecrowley@taliesinpreservation.org.
Tickets are non-refundable, even if plans change due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 24 HOURS NOTICE is required to reschedule a tour or provide a tour credit (in the form of a gift card) for a future tour. Same-day cancellations will not be recompensed. In the unfortunate event Taliesin Preservation cancels a tour or event, guests will be notified in advance and offered a full refund back to the original method of payment or a credit valid through the following tour season.
